Bliss Polish Unteal I Wake Up Swatch and Review

It's the final day of Bliss Polish! I've saved one of my faves for last so I hope you can agree too! I'm working overtime this weekend so I don't get much of a weekend but luckily I think things will be quiet in my neck of the woods (office) so that I can tune into the Germany match. I can't miss it! Anyway, again, you can visit the shop here. You can also follow Bliss Polish on their Facebook page for more updates. This one is called Unteal I Wake Up.

From Bliss Polish: A teal crelly with various teal, green and white glitters.

Again, I really think these are all jellies. I say that because I think jellies are squishy, prone to being a bit sheer - whereas crellys are "creme jellies" where the final goal is to build it up to an opaque creme look, but allowing for layering glitters. Not much to say about application here, but it's just like the others - applied smoothly and was self-levelling. Allowed for some dabbing without making any mess. Here's my swatch in two and a half coats with top coat:

I freehanded some Essie Good As Gold tips on these. I think they really complete the look!

Overall, Unteal I Wake Up is one of my faves - I am always a sucker for these minty Tiffany blue shades. I also think that pun is totally OPI grade, haha!

Hope you all enjoyed Bliss Polish week - I'll be returning to regular programming and backlog next week but should have some exciting things for July! What was your favourite Bliss Polish that I highlighted this week?

Bliss Polish Velvet Rope Swatch and Review

Before I get started on today's polish, I have something really important to say: Alzheimer's is real and is no joke. (If you haven't watched Seth Rogen's bit on this disease, please watch as he says it in a way that be understood how drastic and scary it is.) It affected my family in a way that I cannot even scrape the surface on without getting too emotional. Raphaelle from Digital Nails is currently raising funds to bring awareness and research to hopefully find an end to this disease. As an incentive, she is creating a custom nail polish to those who donate $35+ and send her an email (raphyax at gmail dot com) or show her the screenshot of the donation. (Although, fellow Canadians, we will have to chip in for shipping, mmmmkay?) You can donate here. Two days left! That's really awesome - go Raphaelle!!!!

OK onto today's polish - we are continuing the week with Bliss Polish and today I have Velvet Rope. (Remember, you can visit the shop here. You can also follow Bliss Polish on their Facebook page for more updates.

Now Velvet Rope is a little more different from the jellies I've been highlighting this week... Let's see if you can spot the difference!

From Bliss Polish: "A vivid purple with various flakies."

Well if you didn't spot the difference - this one is different because it has little flakes rather than a glitter mix. It's still a really lovely jelly. Perfect on its own or as an undie! Application was great and it had a nice natural shine to it too. Here's my swatch in two coats:

And for funsies, I added some Finger Paints Twisted on top. Kind of reminds me of one of my unicorns - Cult Nails Unicorn Puke / Clarivoyant - but not quite. Still might do the trick in the meantime!

Really love Velvet Rope, especially with the rainbow flakes of Finger Paints Twisted! I can definitely see this polish used as an all-season - could be fitting for summers as well as the winter!

What do you think of Bliss Polish Velvet Rope? Do you think I did an OK job at emulating the infamous Unicorn Puke?

Bliss Polish Raspberry Beret Swatch and Review

So last night I was running in my neighbourhood (OK, let's not lie to myself - I was going for a walk). My knee and ankle were sort of sore so I wanted to take it easy. I was wearing a giant oversize hoodie and Umbro shorts, some soccer socks and some ugly running shoes. Paint the picture: It's not attractive. I am listening to Iggy Azalea on my iPod, texting with my bestie Caitlin on my iPhone and all of a sudden this bus stops in front of me and this guy comes out. He is eyeing me up and down - probably looking at my thigh tattoos because they sometimes attract the weirdos - and smiles. I give him eye contact but go back to texting Caitlin. He yells at me to talk to me, "so you run around here often?" I reply, "uh I just started I guess, hopefully I keep it up". He then asks, "so where you do run from?" Uhhhh... Pretty sure the dude just asked me where I live. And uhhh no. I lie and pointed in a vague direction. Later, I swear a similar looking dude drove past me and pulled over. I tried not to give the car eye contact, and then it drove away. Call me paranoid, but what the Hell! Seriously guys: Walking faster, ear buds in, texting... What more says "NO I AM NOT AVAILABLE"? Anyway. Bliss Polish. Let's go back to Bliss Polish. Again, you can visit the shop here. You can also follow Bliss Polish on their Facebook page for more updates.

This one is called Raspberry Beret!

From Bliss Polish: "A pink crelly with various pink, orange and white glitters."

Again, I am still thinking these polishes are jellies but that doesn't matter too much. Nothing much to say about application other than that it's been fantastic and consistent with the other jelly glitter confections I've tried in the last couple of days. Self-levelling and easy to dab more glitters where needed. Here's my swatch in two and a half coats with top coat:

Here's some gold nail studs and bling 3D nail decorations. I think they look pretty good with Raspberry Beret!

Really love the glitter mix here. I like that Yvette picked some complimenting colours as a secondary glitter colour unlike Walking on Sunshine and Sailing. The orange compliments the pink jelly quite nicely.

How do you avoid weirdos on your evening runs? Avoid the evenings? Go to a track? What do you think of Raspberry Beret and its awesome squishiness?

Bliss Polish Sailing Swatch and Review

Cheap Polish Tuesday is cancelled this week for Bliss Polish week! Again, I am highlighting some of Yvette's creations until Friday. She's given me some really great jellies to swatch, which I think are perfect for the summer season. Speaking of the summer season, I started doing my evening jogs and I am really out of shape apparently. Yep. Anyway, you can visit the shop here. You can also follow Bliss Polish on their Facebook page for more updates. Here's Sailing.

From Bliss Polish: A light blue crelly with various blue, silver and white glitters.

Again, I really think these are more jellies than crellies. No sign of anything creamy here! But again, I love them. What I love about the glitter mix is that Yvette picked some really great colours to compliment the blue base. Application was really nice because it was very self levelling - and I dabbed a few glitters on for coverage without any fuss. Here's my swatch in two and a half coats with a top coat:

For funsies, here's some white outlines. (I know you're probably sick of outlines so don't worry - there will be no more outlining for the rest of the Bliss Polishes!)

Overall, Sailing is a great polish. I don't own any blue hues quite like this so it's fairly unique to my collection! The glitters look so pretty in the jelly squishy layers. Almost reminds me of sailing - har har! Pretty happy with the way this one turned out.

What makes a polish *summery* to you? What do you do to stay active? (Probably not eat mini naan breads and hummus as a snack like Cthulhu is doing right now... *cough*) What do you think of this Bliss Polish?

Bliss Polish Walking on Sunshine Swatch and Review

Oh heyo it's impromptu Bliss Polish week at good ol Cthulhu here. Yvonne sent over five polishes so I'll be sharing them all week! After a bit of a hiatus, Bliss Polish is open again and you can visit the shop here. You can also follow Bliss Polish on their Facebook page for more updates. Alright, first up on deck is Walking on Sunshine!

From Bliss Polish: "A light yellow crelly with various matte gold, holo gold and white glitters."

I wouldn't say that these polishes (there are four different colors) are crelly as they are more jelly. Super squishy ones, at that! The formula is good on this one - I was worried that the opacity of the jelly would be too faint but it covered well in two coats and I did some dabbing to make sure I got a lot of glitter in the mix. The jelly had a decent enough base to keep the glitters level but with that said, it did need a bit extra dry time. Here's my swatch with top coat:

Bliss Polish Walking on Sunshine is very lovely on its own but I added some gold and silver star studs from Born Pretty Store. I think it added a cute look!

As a fan of jelly polishes, I thought Yvette picked some very nice complimenting glitters to mix with the yellow jelly. The whole collection of these have a great composition.

What do you think of this Bliss Polish? Crelly or jelly? How would you wearing Walking on Sunshine?
