China Glaze Purple Panic (Neon) Swatch and Review

Hey guys, so as some of you may know, I will be hosting a giveaway with some of my Rainbow Honey doubles if I win. At this point in time, I don't count on winning but if you'd like to vote for me, vote for me by liking this photo here.

So for today I've got a polish that you probably haven't seen here. It's a neon polish. I've been feeling quite upset with regrets over the last 48 hours. My grandma passed away yesterday. I am happy that my dad got to see her one last time (he took a clutch flight) but otherwise I've been feeling regretful I didn't visit for the last two summers - I was just so wrapped up in work that I couldn't make it. So I guess that's why this is here today - not a dark colour, but something to keep my spirits up. My grandma was a hard working woman who taught all her children how to be wonderful human beings and in light of that, I want to remember her as just that. Wonderful, lovely.

Enough of the sap. I apologize. Today I've got China Glaze Purple Panic (Neon) which I actually purchased when I first started getting into polish perhaps in 2011. I'm unsure what collection it comes from, even after searching a bit on Google. While the colour is called "Purple Panic", I would tilt this collection to be more in the fuchsia family more than anything else. A neon fuchsia. Formula wise this one went on smoothly with no fuss or pulls in two coats. It dries to a bit of a "waxy" matte finish, which I've shown in my swatch below:

For funsies, I wanted to see how this colour would look glossy, so I added a single coat of Seche Vite. I think it looks fucking WICKED!

I don't think I'll be wearing this polish to the funeral but for now, it does keep me hanging on. What polish cheers you up? Do you have any recommendations?

  1. So sorry to hear about your grandma :( I know how difficult it is living away from family and being super busy, but I'm sure your grandma always knew she was in your thoughts.

About this polish, I love CG and this with the top coat is GORGEOUS. I just posted a Color Club that also does the weird neon thing (sadly I had no light and couldn't capture it before I put top coat on) but looks super gorgeous when it's shiny. cause everything is better shiny.

Take care of yourself Melissa <3

    1. I know she is at peace now. She's been confined to a wheelchair for the last few years and she just hated every moment of it. I'm just glad my dad got to see her one last time as he took a clutch flight out.

Neon colours are so crazy. I know it's fall but hey YOLO. (I can't believe I just said that.)

  4. I know I already commented on your Facebook, but I'm really sorry about your grandma. Losing a loved one is never easy. *HUGS*

And never apologize for the sap!!

This pink is gorgeous and I do prefer it with the top coat, I'm not a big fan of waxy finishes either. I also agree that it's not purple but more of a fuchsia, or a really hot pink (that would have been my description thanks to my lack of colour names, lol). This is definitely a great colour choice to brighten up your spirit.
