A England Briar Rose Swatch and Review (Bonus: Iron Throne Bottle Shots)

End of the week! OH MY LORD, I never thought it would come!!! IT'S HERE! IT'S FRIDAY! *crying* So I'll be making some changes to Claw of Cthulhu for the next while - it's been a while (a while meaning almost two years) since I've updated some content, so don't mind the mess in the meantime! I've also added a new category called "the Iron Throne" up at the top. It's to signify that the polish passed with flying colors in my review and I REALLY, REALLY like them. Speaking of which, that Iron Throne is going to make another appearance. Right now.

Enter A England Briar Rose.

Yes. So much yes.

Briar Rose is from the Burne-Jones Dream Collection, which is based on the Legend of Briar Rose series of paintings by Edward Burne-Jones. (Check it out here on Wikipedia.) A England Briar Rose is - for lack of better terms - flawless. It's a subtly holographic pink toned red. Formula wise, it knocks it out of the park - smooth, timely drying, and a natural glossy finish. Here is my swatch in two coats:

I loooooove this polish. I think if you're looking for a strong holographic polish, you might be disappointed. It's a holographic polish but not as linear as some are. I still think it's very pretty and just the smoothness of the look is more than enough in my books. I haven't tried the rest of the collection yet, but man, it's off to a great start. Also Game of Thrones won't be on this weekend because it's an American holiday on Monday and apparently everything revolves around America so baby Iron Throne will ease my fixings for now.

TGIF or what? Any plans for the weekend? I am totally ready for couch, sleeping in, oversized t-shirts and no pants.

Rainbow Honey Midnight Fountain Swatch and Review (Bonus: Iron Throne Bottle Shots)

Last post of the week and I've got something awesome/hilarious to share. I am a bit nervous because this weekend will be the first engagement shoot of 2014 - I don't know why I get nervous before my shoots. I've done dozens of weddings and engagements but the first one in a long time always gives me jitters! Blahhhh anyway I have something fun today, haha, here it goes:

This is Rainbow Honey's Midnight Fountain from the new spring collection Midnight Garden... on an Iron Throne. For those of you who aren't familiar with the Iron Throne, it's an icon from Game of Thrones. As some of you know, one of my hobbies is strange toy collecting and this one weaseled its way in my collection. I think I'll be using this throne for some of my bottle shots, obviously not all the time but time to time, I think it can be a lot of fun!!!

Swatch wise, Midnight Fountain kills it! I posted a sneak peak on my Instagram last night and it matches my Pravana blue hair perfectly. It's a glitterbomb to rule them all - a beautiful mermaid blue jelly packed with holographic glitters, iridescent squares, and a healthy serving of shimmer. The Kraken's mermaid sister; this one applies gracefully - two coats, no fuss. I topped my swatch with a coat of Seche Vite:

Overall, Midnight Fountain is amazing. I didn't want to take it off! I know this is a bit bold to say, but I think Midnight Fountain is probably my favourite polish in the Midnight Garden collection. There's a lot of great polishes in that collection, but Midnight Fountain is definitely one of the highlights or flagships of the group.

And just because you're morbidly curious like I was - I had no staining problems, which is great for a blue. I wore it over a couple of days and removed it using home made polish remover pads and the Julep "Party's Over" nail caps.

How do you get over being nervous over something that you shouldn't be nervous over? Do you like my Iron Throne bottle shots or is this just... too silly? What do you think of Midnight Fountain?
