Sally Hansen Gem Crush 05 Be-Jeweled Swatch and Review (Diablo 3 Wizard Arcane Inspired Nail Art)

It's Cheap Polish Tuesday! I haven't done one of these for a while! I actually had these grandiose plans of posting every day last week, in theme with Diablo 3, as Reaper of Souls came out last week but as it turns out, I had a battle with Diab-I mean, a plague of sorts and was bed ridden. Currently I am going deaf from this head cold and I am just miserable! So, I guess I'll try to cheer myself up by posting these "Arcane" inspired nails!

This is just a swatch of Sally Hansen's Be-Jeweled from the Gem Crush collection that came out a year or so ago. I still see them on the shelves and they've gone down in price sub-$5, which puts it right in line for Cheap Polish Tuesday. Be-Jeweled is a nice pastel-leaning purple glitter with bits of bigger pink highlight glitters. The application was great - everything went on smoothly. The first coat was a bit patchy but the second and half coats went on smoothly as the first coat just acted as a sticky foundation for the glitter. I used a coat of Seche Vite to make things smooth.

I think this polish is the PERFECT Arcane polish for something quick and easy. I might do some more advanced Arcane nails using a sponged technique like how I made the pastel galaxy but if you want some Arcane nails in a hurry, this is perfect! And affordable! Hello Cheap Polish Tuesday!

Anyone know how to get rid of this "underwater" "plugged" ear feeling when sick? Will it go away? I am honestly scared this is permanent! Anyone else enjoying Reaper of Souls for Diablo 3? I think the game is fixed and is absolutely AMAZING now! I am having so much fun! Now if I wasn't sick...

  1. this has the bonus of looking very radiant orchid-y, too! TRES CHIC. i wish seche didn't shrink/chip horribly on my nails even when i wrap my tips, because all your glittery swatches look sooo smooth and lovely ;_;

i've actually never played diablo, but a tonnnnn of my old WoW guildmates are popping up on realID since the new diablo patch/expac dropped, so i've been really excited to get to reconnect with a bunch of people.

WoW is kind of boring now because most of my guild is spending their non-raiding time on D3, so i've been thinking about giving it a go, but is it true that diablo is click-to-move instead of WASD? that seems crazy to me; i haven't played a click-to-move game in years. i'm not sure i could acclimate. D:

    1. Man I hate Real ID! I just wish there was more settings because it looks like anyone that is on your list for Real ID can just crash your party any time they want I don't mind rolling with people but at least implement the option to make them ask. Grrrr.

Diablo is click to go but I think I got used to it. I play a lot of StarCraft and League of Legends so I guess for me, I was pretty used to it but for a game like D3, it makes more sense. WoW is more... 3D? Does that make sense? D3 is more third person than WoW is, I hope that makes some sort of sense. I am not making any sense at all, am I? Ahhhh...

Seche is great - I honestly will never use any other top coat - but I wear my polish either until it all chips off, or for a day. I am kind of scared this blue polish I am currently rocking is going to stain but I guess we'll find out tonight! Glitter always takes a real THICK coat of top coat to look good, or it always looks a bit bumpy I find. :( Especially if it's those dumb circle glitters. I can't believe no one ever says anything about the circle glitters. I HATE THOSE THICK CIRCLE GLITTERS!!!

... OK I feel better now, lol.

    2. ahhh, i forgot that diablo let's people on your realID just be like "HEY SUP" and jump into your game. when d3 first came out i had a friend who complained about his real-life friends doing that constantly. and omggg, i haven't played league of legends in so long; i forgot it was click-to-move. i also played a really amazing (read: terrible) korean MMO called ragnarok online that was CTM. ~memories~~~~ and YOU'RE MAKING SENSE. ♥

i am super with you on the circle glitters. i don't know why they're so much thicker than hex glitters or even the heart/star shaped ones, but they do stick up off the nail way more and require sooo much more topcoat. :\ i know one of the february rainbow honey polishes had circles in it that weren't bad, imo, but i still haven't tried my poffin party mini. :x hopefully the circles in it are thinner, because the color scheme is sooo cute!

  2. I hope you feel better soon!
This is a beautiful colour, I love it! Glitter bombs are awesome!
My husband has been playing D3, he's quite excited about it. :)

    1. I've been using and embracing more glitter ever since I got the Julep Party's Over glitter removal - Love those reusable caps. Way more efficient than the foil method!

I freaking LOVE Diablo 3. Seriously Loot 2.0 is the greatest thing ever and the TRANSMOG, YES.

  3. May be too late now, but a rice sock can help with plugged ears. Just a cotton sock filled with raw rice and warmed in the microwave for a warm compress.

Also my BFF did some of the chorus recording for RoS. I haven't got to do any video game soundtracks yet, just trailers and a very small number of movie soundtracks.

    1. Ugh I ended up taking prescription drugs to actually unplug my ears! It was serious business! After a week it finally popped though - wow, so nice to hear again!

And that's SO awesome - what a friggin' honour to work on such a cool project!
