Rainbow Honey Evening Viola Swatch and Review

One day left of anxiety with what's going on with my car and then I can have peace of mind. I was totally just freaking out and googling what could possibly be wrong... Not sure if it's a good idea or bad idea but at least now I am prepared for the worst? Kind of? Anyway. I am also distracting myself with getting another tattoo but from an apprentice - all my tattoos have been done by artists with over a decade of experience so while I am a little... reluctant - everyone starts somewhere, right? Speaking of which... I'll go back to that idea in a bit.

Here's Rainbow Honey Evening Viola from the Midnight Garden collection. Again, I totally don't think this collection got enough love so I am still going to share my swatches. The Rainbow Honey site says this is "a shimmery indigo sea of iridescent and holographic glitters" - a short and sweet description. That is what it is but I would also like to say that I think this is a glitter bomb with a LOT of depth. Application wise it goes on very smoothly and with a top coat, it makes for a nice even glossy look. I haven't tried it yet but I bet you could even wear one coat over black for a completely different look. Anyhow:

And in case you forgot, I used Evening Viola with some studs from Born Pretty Store:

All in all, Evening Viola is awesome. If I had to pick my fave glitterbomb from the Midnight Garden collection, it's still Midnight Fountain, though. But this is still quite lovely!

So going back to the idea of everyone starting somewhere - well, if you follow good ol Cthulhu, you might have noticed that I have started to experiment with photography more. Initially it was my intention to keep things fairly vanilla, but I've grown old of it and I feel like it's become a bit 'formula'. I'd like to experiment more with different backgrounds, shallow depth of field and I'm going to start exposing my photos a bit more so the polish shows better. Anyway, just figured I'd say something - for now I do have a bunch of backlog and I'll be posting that over the next week or so.

Alright. Any of you guys get tattooed by an apprentice? Was it bad? Was it good? Is it OK that I am still showing my love for Midnight Garden or should I move on already?

  2. This is a beautiful polish and I bet it would look stunning over black. Ah RH, I miss having you on my nails. I haven't done my nails in over 2 weeks - can you believe it?!? Part of it is just laziness, and part of it is that I have no clue what I'm doing, but time is just flying by.

What kind of tattoo are you getting done?

    1. I miss having RH on my nails too! Too much polish and such little time!

I finished my 80s electronics half sleeve last month but I am still working away at a Sailor Mars thigh piece. :3
