Whoa, it's Monday. (Ugh, it's Monday.) I'm sitting at my desk with a massive headache so just a quick post today. This one has been sitting in my backlog for about two months now, just before the great nail breakage of 2013.
Nothing will cheer me up more than a little bit of Rainbow Honey so when I was faced with my nails barely held together by nail glue, I tried to cover it up with a glitter gradient. First, I wanted to start with a sheer jelly foundation to give the illusion of clean and healthy nails (which they definitely were not at the time) - so in turn I used OPI In The Spot-Light Pink for a base colour. For the glitter gradient, I used Rainbow Honey Pinkie Promise. It's a really dense glitter so it wasn't so much of a "gradient" as much as I would have liked but glitter tips will suffice!
Anyway, I think that's all for today. I am going to take some Advil and hopefully get some swatches ready for the week! Hope all of you are enjoying this lovely... Monday. Ugh, Monday, haha.
i know exactly how you feel about Monday :( But I will be painting my nails tonight (possibly in the dark, yay thunder storm) and hopefully that helps cheer me up. Maybe even with glitter? This glitter is so pretty but that's kinda funny about the "gradient" aspect.
ReplyDeleteI hope your day and week improves <3

Good old Canadian weather, there's nothing like it. I hope you get some time in to paint your nails! I had plans all weekend and didn't really get a chance for some alone time so hopefully this week I'll get around to it. For some reason I have these introverted tendencies where I don't feel fully rested if my weekend is full of plans - even if it's fun, non-work stuff, I always need a bit of downtime to get my energy back. So weird.
DeleteI know exactly what you mean, lately I have been over-scheduling myself and sometimes I just need to spend the night at home painting my nails and watching youtube, which is exactly what is about to happen :)
DeleteHahaha I saw this photo on IG and was like "whaaa she did this with that bottle of clear blue polish? This is amazinng".... Right, let's blame it on monday, shall we?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, this looks so good! I need to get me some Rainbow Honey!
Hahaha I don't know why I held onto the base coat polish - that must have been a loopy mistake I did that one night. I was all upset over my glued nails so I wouldn't be too surprised if I did something silly like that!
DeleteI think a Swedish retailer might sell RH - might be worth looking into! :D
I'm loving getting to see this on my laptop screen instead of my phone. I love this combination so much. I really didn't think Pinkie Promise was for me, but now I'm starting to think otherwise. I bought A Little Bit of Kindness and wasn't a fan, but not to any fault of Rainbow Honey. It's pretty and all, but I don't think yellow and I are friends.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried layering A Little Kindness over a darker colour like a navy or black? I think that's what really won me over for me. I love it over a yellow, but those types of shades just look awful with my skintone. I wish it worked out because it looks so great. Also the first time I used A Little Kindness, it was over the slowest drying Revlon polish ever and it just smeared off after I top coated it because I didn't give it enough time to dry (I gave it 30 minutes already, ugh).
DeleteLooks very cute! And I think the gradient effect looks pretty good by the way :-)
ReplyDeleteI am definitely going to have to do them more often. They hide all the nail's imperfections hehe. ;)
DeleteThis looks great! And the gradient looks like a gradient; the pink of Pinkie Promise blends in with the undie colour.
ReplyDeleteI have nude nails atm. I was just too damn busy to do them this past weekend. :( I think I'll have nude nails a bit more often over the summer, unfortunately. They are just begging to get painted!
I know this sounds totally crazy but I actually only wear polish maybe 2-3 days a week. I let my nails breathe more than half the time, haha! I guess that's how I avoid staining. Like the plague apparently.
DeleteI love how understated yet fantastic this is. Totally hot!
