You want to see that closer? OK fine. Cthulhu's first macro debut right here folks.

Digital Nails Serenity Swatch

From Digital Nails: If you are a Joss Whedon fan, you'll know the name Serenity is inspired by the star ship in the television series (that was cancelled way before it had a chance to thrive) Firefly, and the follow up film, Serenity. The series has since developed a cult following - with hordes of lifelong fans, disgruntled by the abrupt and unnatural ending. It really does have everything you could want - drama, comedy, wonderfully clever writing, it oozes with cheeky camp and sexual tension. You care about the good guys, and you love to hate the bad ones. It holds a very special place in my little nerdy heart. If you haven't seen it, you can check it out on Netflix, which I highly suggest. After all, you know what they say about space cowboys. ;-)

OK. Where do I even begin? This is the ULTIMATE multicolour multishifter. It honestly does not get better than this. It has a complete range from magenta to amber to green to blue. It primarily sits in the magenta blue teal range for most lighting situations, but angle your nails right and you'll get a slight hint of amber. Application wise, it goes on quite smoothly with a generous amount of glitter. I kept it at one coat because I wanted each glitter to have a chance to shine (and I am a bit of a hoarder so I want to make this bottle last as long as I can!). Here's one coat of Digital Nails Serenity over top of one coat of Cult Nails Nevermore:

And did I mention it's a multishifter? Yeah, take away one of my lamps and it turns into this pretty quick:

In case you were curious, here's Serenity with some OPI Matte Top Coat slapped on. In all honesty, this polish is not made for matte top coat. It can't be tamed.

Nail art wise, I would pair this polish up with some gold nail studs. I actually wore a polish quite like this (the long gone Ozotic 528) with some gold triangle nail studs when I attended BlizzCon last year. It was just perfect for Anaheim sun. It also plays quite nicely with some stamping. Here's one of my all-time favourite plates, Nailz Craze NC02:

There's a reason why I picked the unicorn plate for Serenity, and it's because this polish is going to be a unicorn. I am calling it now. In regards to uniqueness, I have seen this polish before as Ozotic 528 (EDIT: and according to my NPBFF Caitlin, also Enchanted Polish Ciao Milano) but that polish's availability has been long gone. In fact, this type of glitter is becoming to be scarce, rare, and/or expensive. Digital Nails Serenity is a unicorn. A majestic as fuck unicorn. In fact, just this week Digital Nails Serenity was out of stock and Raphaelle just made a few more bottles yesterday. To my understanding, the supplies are running low and this one might be in the museum pretty soon! (But don't quote me on that!)

It almost makes sense that THIS polish is Serenity because we'll never get Firefly back on TV. (Specifically Nathan Fillion as Malcolm Reynolds... UNF UNF UNF.) Firefly is the ultimate unicorn sci-fi show and soon I'm sure multicolour multishifter glitters won't be around either. SIGH.

So, what do you think of this multishifter? Does it get any better than this? Seriously, LOOK AT THIS AGAIN:

All I have to say is:

I'll be in my bunk.

  1. The only reason I didn't order this with my currently-in-transit order is it was out of stock. So I rectified that today. I am justifying two orders so close to each other because it will be my birthday next week. :-)

    1. I just checked and there are ZERO left! OMG WHO GOT THE LAST ONE?!

To my knowledge, Raphaelle does have more of the glitter supplies so hopefully we'll see a small restock!

  3. Gah I love everything about this. Even the matte version and I love how the bottle is an oil slick-y rainbow at all times, too :)

    1. Hehe I might do some macros once in a while but I have to use a different camera for them and the colour is totally off so I try to make it an occasional thing. :D
