Anyway, today's Shitty Nail Art is inspired by the fireworks show at Canada Place in Vancouver. (You couldn't tell, right?) I did a gradient with a sponge with OPI You're Such a Budapest and OPI Can't Find My Czechbook. I should have stopped there but I continued. With a dotting tool (I wish I had a better nail art brush), I drew a skyline with Canada Place and Harbour Centre. Then I drew some fireworks with Essie Good As Gold and added a couple of sparkle glitters from Essie Set in Stones.

It's really bad. I don't know what I was thinking.
Anyway, how was your weekend? I should really just stick to the Animal Crossing nail art, right? Haha, I hope all of you are having a great week so far. Let's just forget I ever posted this.
Melissa you're so hard on yourself! These are great! Very impressionistic. I dig them. ^___^
ReplyDeleteMaybe next time I'll try something closer to Starry Night because it might be a little bit more friendly towards a dotting tool, lol. But thanks! I totally still hate them but I guess it's all about figuring stuff out. This was just my second gradient!
DeleteThat is a lot of steps! I wish I could keep my 3DS with me at work but it's too bulky and I'd start playing it during the day which is a no-no. I think you did a great job on your nail art. It reminds me of the fireworks I saw this past weekend. I can be hard to just sit there and meticulously draw on such a small canvas, so don't beat yourself up too much. I agree with Anna. It is impressionistic. :3
ReplyDeleteHaha it's hard to not take out the 3DS at work, but I do when it's time for lunch. Keeps me out of trouble. ;) It's definitely challenging to paint on such a tiny canvas but I thinka huge part of it is patience and because I was so sad that day, I had practically none! Ah well. Next time, some more Animal Crossing nails for sure. ^^;
DeleteYou need to stop being so hard on yourself! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the colours you chose for your gradient. I have to try one soon... actually I really do cause I think the theme for the summer challenge for next week is gradient!
Haha the gradient was great but the silhouette should have been done better! I think I just lacked patience and a fine brush - maybe I'll give it another shot next year, hehehehe. I'm looking forward to seeing your gradient!
