Zoya Storm Swatch and Review

I am trying to figure out what this year's "Gangdam Style" is at weddings. Man I heard that song so much last year and I think this year I've heard a lot of Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" but let's face it - it's just not the same, haha! Anyway today I've got Zoya Storm, which is from Zoya's Winter 2012 Ornate collection. I kept seeing it and wanting it and I decided to pick it up from Nail Polish Canada a couple of months ago.

Zoya Storm is a black based polish, jam packed with holographic micro flakes. Application and formula were flawless. I don't often use that word, but it had such even and smooth coverage, I can't find any other words for it. It covered beautifully in two coats and seriously, my swatch is without top coat. It dries to a high gloss finish and it looks freaking great. Here's my swatch in two coats:

Yeah, I am pretty much in love. It's also super holographic in the sun. I definitely recommend to pick this one up if you've been eye-ing it for a while like I had! I am certainly not disappointed.

Do any of you guys own Storm? Did you get it before everyone else got it and called it cool? (Haha!) What polishes did you lust after a while before getting it? Were you happy with it?

  1. Oh wow this is beautiful! It kinda looks like a star-filled night sky.

The only polish that comes to mind that I lusted after before getting (until I could find it in stock!) was the ice cream nail polish with the glitters in it (Strawberry Stars Candy) and it was worth the wait, I absolutely love it!!!

    1. Oh man, I just wish we could put little tiny suns in our lightboxes though just to show off all the holo goodness - IT'S EVEN BETTER!!!

I love all those little ice cream polishes. I am going to have to get them one day. One day when all my ~400 polishes have been swatched and reviewed on this blog... LOL.

  3. They should sell polishes like this one in bigger bottles. Just sayin.

The one I realllly lusted after was Stone Cold by China Glaze. I wear it a lot actually, it just has this "instant-badass" vibe :)

    1. LOL can you imagine how big a 30mL bottle of this would be? It would be insanity!

I lusted after Stone Cold too and then I shamefully haven't even worn it! It's one of the first CG polishes I ever bought too. I am awful.

  6. this is SO pretty! I hadn't heard of it before so I guess I'm not cool but I'm definitely lusting over it now. I have wanted Magic Cake for awhile and also Butter London's Rosie Lee and Julep's Popova and Julianne. But I am pretty good at getting lots of other things in the meantime. But yeah I seriously want this. There are a few Zoya's on my wish list the moment (Crystal! Sigh)

    1. Zoya is one of my fave polish brands. If I see one in Winners, I'll be guaranteed to pick it up. Unfortunately no new polishes for me for a while - I just gotta deal with this Low Buy until next year. C'est la vie when you're a photographer who upgraded into Pocketwizards for radio triggers!!! (OH WELL THE FREEDOM IS SOOO WORTH IT.)
